Kit is trained as a journalist, has worked as a reporter and host, producer, showrunner, development director, and production executive before taking the helm at RTR.
She leans into producing with strategic vision and passion. She embraces a virtual workplace and runs RTR from where ever work and life takes her. She’s a veteran with experience with broadcasters from across North America.
She is the winner of 3 Canadian Screen Awards for best Lifestyle producer, the WIFT Mentorship award, The Innoversity Angel Award and the Female Eye, Maverick Award. She is past vice-chair of WIFT-Toronto and past co-chair on the CMPA digital opportunities committee.
Toni brings an impressive track record in production management, having successfully managed numerous million dollar budgets and an ever-growing multi-million dollar production slate.
Prior to joining RTR, Toni spent time with 11 Television Canada, where she was the Executive in Charge of Production for their international hits Destination Fear (Travel US) and Panic Button (Space & TruTV). Toni also spent several years as the VP of Magee TV.
Some of her production credits include Executive Producer of Food Network Canada’s Everyday Exotic, Producer of W Network’s Smart Woman Survival Guide and Line Producer for LIFE Network’s popular fashion series, So Chic, HGTV’s decorating hits Design Rivals and Love by Design.
Jenna has a wide range of experience in production, development and broadcasting with a specialty in lifestyle and reality television.Prior to joining RTR, Jenna spent a number of years as a Production Executive at HGTV Canada and Food Network Canada. An early adopter of digital storytelling, Jenna produced shows for one of the worlds first digital channels U8TV.com and The Lofters. (2001) A true hybrid of linear and digital television. As a freelancer, Jenna held positions as Showrunner, Developer, Field Director and Story Editor. Winner of 2012 and 2014, 2015 Canadian Screen Award for Best Lifestyle series. Jenna graduated with BFA Honours and awards from York University: Film and Video Production.
Head of Post-Production
Ryan drives an efficient and effective postproduction department with his “relaxed under pressure” demeanour.
His strong organizational skills, discipline and consistency allow him to provide a productive postproduction facility for editors and producers. His attention to detail and excellence ensures that our shows leave RTR for our broadcasters looking their best and on time.
Ryan’s production credits include Home Town, Income Property and Distrupting Design. He recently designed our new postproduction facilities. Ryan has a degree in Film Studies and a diploma in Post Production for Film & Television.
Faced with the task of solving complicated issues, Jaye consistently brings creative solutions to RTR. Working with RTR Digital Studios and the development team, Jaye’s passion for Real Estate and Home Improvement lends itself perfectly to managing the diverse range of RTR productions.
Having worked with filmmakers, actors, and writers, Jaye has garnered communicative adaptability and is able to efficiently manage the RTR digital team.
Jaye has worked in event management for Rogers, Production for the Canadian Film Centre, and thrives when combining a creative outlet with production logistics.
An avid craft beer connoisseur, and passionate dog lover (ask her about Maddox), Jaye brings an incredible understanding of both production and relationship management to RTR and we’re thrilled to have her on the team.
Director of Content
In her role as Director of Content, Lara receives scenes from the Field Team and transforms them into compelling stories as she shepherds shows through post production, managing a team of skilled editors to create RTR shows you love, including Flip or Flop: Fort Worth, HomeTown, and Hidden Potential.
Lara has a wide range of experience in production and post production with a specialty in reality television and lifestyle. Prior to joining RTR, Lara worked for 3 seasons as an Episode Producer on Big Brother Canada, a Producer on The Amazing Race Canada, Post Producer on Top Chef Canada, as well as a Senior Story Editor on Master Chef Canada and Hello Goodbye Canada. In one year Lara held key creative roles on 3 of the top 10 rated shows in Canada.
Angela is an adventurous producer willing to take on any challenge. She specialize in talent management, team building, creative problem solving and bringing in projects on time and on budget.
Angela is also a creative story teller with a track record of conceiving, writing, editing, packaging, promoting and developing high-quality television programming.
She is experienced at assessing viewer demographics to create programming that delivers a target audience. On top of that, she is a motivational team builder who meets tight budgets and deadlines while juggling multiple projects.
President of 547 Barnard
Lindsey Weidhorn, former director of original programing at Scripps is now the president of New York-based unscripted production company, 547 Barnard.
In Spring of 2016, RTR Media signed a development and production partnership with 547 Barnard. Lindsey and her New York based team now develops new projects exclusively with RTR Media.
Lindsey has had her hand in some of HGTV's most popular shows, Fixer Upper, Income Property and Property Brothers.
After completing an internship at RTR Media in her undergraduate career, Aleks has grown into a key member of the Development team. Fuelled by her passion for storytelling, Aleks brings a unique approach to idea and talent development at RTR Media.
Inspired by the popular TV series Community, she decided to pursue a career in television. As a graduate of Ryerson’s Radio and Television Arts program, Aleks possesses a wide variety of skills that continue to help her thrive in film production. Her sharp attention to detail and creative mindset can be seen in her work, like the three episodes of the Horror Comedy Go To Hell, that she wrote.
In her free time, Aleks enjoys the outdoors and constantly pushes herself to learn new things. RTR Media could not be more thrilled to be part of her career.

Erin Hug combines her love of creative storytelling with innovation in her role as a Development Associate. After starting her career in scripted TV in Los Angeles, she is enjoying discovering the fast-paced, dynamic world of unscripted TV.
For the past several years, Erin has been working as a playwright in Ireland, writing full-length and one-act plays that have been produced in Ireland and the United States, three of which earned her awards at festivals. She has also worked in non-profit, teaching youth about social issues through improvisational theatre in Sweden and Florida, and working in community engagement at the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
She is now excited to return to television, and is grateful to be a member of the RTR team.
